How does Minoxidil work ?
Minoxidil is a topical solution applied directly to the scalp once or twice a day. The amount of Minoxidil in the solution can vary from 2% to 6%, the highest percentage typically being recommended to treat male patients. Minoxidil should be used for at least 4 months before any degree of hair regrowth can be seen. Treatment should be used regularly to increase the chances of success.
Minoxidil has the effect of widening blood vessels and opening potassium channels, which provides a higher flow of oxygen, blood and nutrients to scalp follicles. This stimulates follicles, increases the diameter of hair shafts and prolongs hair growth. Although Minoxidil does not stop hair loss directly, it is used to support hair growth.
How to use Minoxidil
It is a liquid solution that should be applied once or twice a day to the scalp. A 1 ml dose (marked on the dropper) should be used for each application. Hair and scalp should be dry before the application, it is also recommended to avoid getting the hair wet for at least four hours after the application of minoxidil. There is no need to shampoo the hair before each use.

What if I forget to apply the treatment one day ?
Just like Finasteride, apply the treatment as soon as possible if you have forgotten to do so and only use one dose if the time for the next treatment is near.
What can I expect when using Minoxidil ?
The medicine should be used regularly to be able to observe hair regrowth. Increased hair loss can occur during the first month of the Minoxidil treatment, which is normal and should slow down at the end of the month. It may take 3 to 4 months of regular use to see improvements. It is important to continue the treatment to maintain the progression of hair regrowth. If the treatment is interrupted, hair that has grown back usually falls after three months.
